About the Amedeo's North Italian Restaurant Family

"Continuing old traditions, and starting new ones"

In 1954, Amedeo “Dick” DeAngelis traveled from Reading, PA to Raleigh, NC to attend NC State University on a football scholarship.

He quickly missed his mother’s and grandmother’s homemade recipes that they brought with them straight from Italy, so he decided to open a restaurant to share the incredible meals that he enjoyed growing up.  In 1963, Amedeo’s, seating only 12 people, opened on Western Boulevard.

For the past 25 years, his son Rick has helped establish and grow the well-known restaurant that now seats 220 customers.  Through his hard work, dedication, and loyalty to his customer base (who for years have shown a demand for several different locations in the area) Rick, along with his wife Lisa, continue the tradition by bringing the same great dishes and family-oriented, local-feel to North Raleigh.  Rick and Lisa are excited to welcome all and thank you for joining them in carrying on old, and creating new traditions!

This is dedicated to Betty DeAngelis, Rick’s loving mother.

Employment opportunities: Looking for a server, host/hostess, and line cook due to the “expansion” patio and an extra added 32+ seats
